I am staying here in the darkness

With eyes closed

Fearful of the shapes created

By my imagination

All around me.

I know that my mind can work miracles

At times

When I don't really want it to.

I can create an entire different reality

All around me.

This evening my reality is nightmarish

So I am afraid to open eyes and face it.

My own creation.

I wonder sometimes if God is afraid to look at us.
