Peas
I broke away from my soul a few months
ago.
The hemorrhage lasted for weeks
And in the end my soul remained on the outside
mewling in the bed with teddy bears.
Ever since, I wake up a few times every night,
And I start looking for myself in the next room
From where I can hear the wailing.
I keep trying to gather myself,
To put myself on paper, the way that I am:
My body is completely transformed
And my mind is functioning bit by bit
Under a strict schedule,
During naps.
Something is moving outside of me
Disturbing my insides.
I have to boil a cup of peas and wash t-shirts.
