Between you and me
This should stay between you and me
But I have to say
that life is not all it's cracked up to be.
I mean, OK,
we all wake up in the morning
and go follow our dream.
Sounds simple enough.
But then they interfere, you know,
the fears--that maybe you do it wrong or are insane,
the anxiety--that you're not fast enough
that you might make a mistake
that people might not agree.
The desires--to be like everybody else,
to be happy, to live to the fullest,
The people--the ones with other dreams in which you might have a lead role,
The fatigue, time, money, gravitation,
The TV.
They all pile on top of our dream
and muddy up the clear view we had at awakening.
Then again we have to go to sleep,
be aware again
and grab the meaning:
Oh, right!
Let's see how today goes.
Between you an me,
They all seem to go the same.
