“The light of heaven” by LUCIAN BLAGA
I look up at the sun and laugh.
My heart does not reside inside my head,
neither do I have brains inside my heart.
I am inebriated with the world and I’m an infidel!
I wonder, would my field yield
such laughter, without the light of evil?
Would so much magic blossom on your lip,
were you not wrung,
oh, saint one,
by hidden voluptuousness of sin?
Just like a heretic I ponder and I ask:
Where does the heaven get its light? --
I know: it is illuminated by the flames of hell.

De unde-ºi are raiul -
lumina? - ªtiu: Îl lumineazã iadul
cu flãcãrile lui!
